Bill Gates emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) could revolutionize access to quality care in resource-limited countries grappling with health worker shortages. Following significant cuts in international aid, which have contributed to an increase in preventable child deaths, AI is seen as a key tool to mitigate these effects. The initiative aims to improve care for pregnant women and HIV patients by streamlining patient interactions and reducing administrative burdens. In addition, Gates highlighted the need for responsible AI use to elevate healthcare in impoverished regions. The goal is to reach 1,000 primary health clinics by 2028, ultimately enhancing service efficiency and quality in the face of dwindling global health funding.
