Jony Ive, renowned designer of the iPhone, recently invested nearly $73 million in four luxury homes in Belvedere, California, after purchasing numerous properties in San Francisco’s Jackson Square during the pandemic. Belvedere, an exclusive enclave known for its stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline, hosts the three contiguous houses on Golden Gate Avenue and another on Beach Road. The largest property features five bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, with an annual tax bill of nearly $590,000. Previously owned by Apercen Partners, the homes have been largely unoccupied, with one rented for $15,000 monthly to a former tech CEO. Amidst this real estate acquisition, OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, has also acquired Ive’s AI-device startup for $6.5 billion, aiming to develop groundbreaking hardware leveraging ChatGPT. Products under consideration include a smart speaker and wearable technology, signaling a new era in tech innovation.
