At the RSNA meeting in Chicago, Hologic is unveiling new clinical data supporting its AI-driven mammography technologies, particularly the 3DQuorum and Genius AI Detection solutions. A retrospective study by Dr. Manisha Bahl from Massachusetts General Hospital examined the efficacy of 3DQuorum on cancer detection rates, analyzing over 160,000 mammograms. Findings indicated no significant difference in detection rates post-implementation, highlighting enhanced workflow efficiency and reduced radiologist burden. This suggests 3DQuorum’s potential to streamline processes without compromising diagnostic accuracy. Additionally, Professor Yan Chen’s study at the University of Nottingham assessed Genius AI Detection’s performance against 108 radiologists, revealing improved detection rates but also higher false positives. Hologic is further showcasing its Envision mammography platform and conducting educational events on AI applications and breast surgery at the RSNA meeting. These advancements underscore the transformative role of AI in enhancing workflow efficiency and delivering high-quality care in breast cancer screening.
