Corey Brozina, associate professor at YSU’s Rayen School of Engineering, has secured his fourth National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, adding to an impressive total of approximately $1.6 million. With less than 12% of NSF applications approved, this achievement reflects Brozina’s dedication to innovative education. His latest project, “Developing Artificial Intelligence Literacy Among Undergraduate Engineering and Technology Students Through Case-Based Instruction,” aims to integrate AI into engineering curricula over three years. Collaborating with Aditya Johri from George Mason University, the initiative focuses on practical, ethical AI applications in real-world scenarios, enhancing first-year students’ preparedness for industry challenges. The $320,000 grant, effective Oct. 1, represents YSU’s commitment to AI research and curriculum innovation. It also provides resources for undergraduate and graduate research opportunities, reinforcing YSU’s position as a leader in AI education and contributing to nationwide developments in teaching AI literacy across engineering programs.
