Bumble is set to launch an AI-powered matchmakingapp this fall, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report. The company, led by CEO Wolfe Herd, has collaborated with psychologists and relationship counselors to develop a unique matchmaking AI. This beta version, distinct from the existing platform, aims to be “the world’s smartest and most emotionally intelligent matchmaker.” It will create personalized dating profiles based on users’ responses to questions about past relationships and experiences. Utilizing a large language model, the app will interact with users in a human-like manner, aiming to enhance their dating experiences by finding matches and even booking reservations. The monetization strategy is still being determined, with possibilities of charging users per match. Despite the innovative advancements, Bumble’s stock (BMBL) has seen a decline, trading at $6.29, down 23% this year. Retail sentiment around the stock remains bearish, with low engagement noted on Stocktwits.
