The Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched SabhaSaar, an AI-driven voice-to-text summarization tool, on August 14, 2025, aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in grassroots governance. This innovative platform has rapidly gained traction among Gram Panchayats across States and Union Territories for conducting Gram Sabha and Panchayat meetings. In its pilot phase, SabhaSaar achieved impressive adoption rates, with 87% of Tripura’s Gram Panchayats utilizing the tool during Special Gram Sabhas. By December 3, 2025, over 92,376 Gram Panchayats had embraced SabhaSaar for automated meeting summaries. To support this initiative, the Ministry conducted extensive training sessions, ensuring officials were well-acquainted with the tool’s functionality. Operating under the India AI Mission, SabhaSaar prioritizes data governance and privacy, fully adhering to the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules established on November 13, 2025. This commitment to data security underlines the project’s role in driving digital transformation in local self-governance.
