Chonnam National University Commits to Creating an AI-Enhanced Campus Experience

Chonnam National University (CNU) has launched an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) campus transformation project aimed at integrating AI technologies across teaching, research, and administration. This initiative provides eight generative AI platforms, including ChatGPT and Claude, for free to approximately 30,000 students, faculty, and staff, enhancing accessibility and reducing barriers. CNU’s “AI for All @ CNU” vision promotes AI as a utility for academic and professional tasks, encouraging faculty to use AI for course design and students to leverage tools for research and project development. The program is part of the broader Glocal University 30 framework, emphasizing human-centered AI education and alignment with local economic strengths. CNU also plans to expand AI-related academic tracks, educate faculty on ethical AI use, and prepare graduates for successful careers in Korea’s evolving tech landscape. The initiative underscores CNU’s commitment to fostering innovation and equipping the campus community for the future.
