Cursor Unveils Web App for Managing AI Coding Agents

Share

Anysphere, the company behind the viral AI coding editor Cursor, launched a web app enabling users to manage coding agents from their browsers. This marks a significant expansion beyond the original integrated development environment (IDE) that developers used. The web app allows users to issue natural language commands to background agents, which autonomously tackle coding tasks like writing features or fixing bugs. Users can also monitor agent progress and merge changes into their codebase. Following a successful Slack integration, this new app further enhances user experience. Cursor has recently achieved $500 million in annual recurring revenue and is used by over half of the Fortune 500, including firms like NVIDIA and Uber. Anysphere has also introduced a $200-per-month Pro tier to cater to growing demand. The development team emphasizes that their coding agents are designed for practical use, aiming to handle 20% of a software engineer’s tasks by 2026.
