Cursor’s AI-Driven Help Desk Resolves 80% of Employee Support Tickets Efficiently

AI coding-assistant startup Cursor is leveraging artificial intelligence not just for coding assistance but also to enhance its internal operations. CEO Michael Truell revealed at Fortune Brainstorm AI that the company has automated about 80% of employee support tickets and created an AI-driven internal communication system. This allows employees to query any company-related information, fostering efficiency. Cursor, valued at $29.3 billion and boasting over 300 employees, reported exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue since its 2022 inception by MIT graduates. Its AI tool, released in 2023, has gained traction among software engineers for code generation and editing. While a July 2025 study indicated some experienced developers faced challenges when using AI tools, a University of Chicago study found teams utilizing Cursor merged 39% more pull requests, showcasing enhanced performance, especially in senior developers. Truell acknowledged this unexpected outcome and aims to explore its underlying reasons further.
