Dashverse, an AI startup specializing in mobile-first entertainment, secured $13 million in Series A funding on August 12, led by Peak XV Partners. Founded in 2023 by Sanidhya Narain, Lalith Gudipati, and Soumyadeep Mukherjee, the company focuses on helping creators develop, publish, and monetize original stories across comics and micro dramas. Their key products include DashReels, a burgeoning micro drama app with over 5 million downloads, and Frameo.AI, currently in beta, for video creation. Narain emphasizes a strong focus on DashReels and Frameo.AI, citing the growing popularity of micro dramas in India. The funding will allow Dashverse to enhance its AI technology and improve creator experiences. Transitioning to a subscription model, DashReels will charge Rs 399 for a three-month plan, favoring user retention compared to micropayments. Dashverse aims to cultivate a creative community and redefine mobile storytelling within the rapidly evolving creator economy.
