According to exclusive Comscore data shared with ADWEEK, Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot, is outpacing rivals in mobile growth, adding 5.6 million users from March to June 2023. In comparison, OpenAI’s ChatGPT gained 3.9 million users during the same period. While ChatGPT leads with 25.4 million users, its growth rate of 17.9% is eclipsed by Copilot’s remarkable 175%, bringing its user base to 8.8 million. Google’s Gemini also gained traction, growing 68% to 14.3 million users, partly due to its integration in Pixel phones. Brian Pugh, Comscore’s chief product officer, notes that Copilot’s productivity features and enterprise integration drive user adoption. Microsoft’s dominance in the enterprise sector, bolstered by deep-rooted relationships, enhances the AI’s integration into workflows. This boom has significantly contributed to Microsoft’s Azure revenue, which soared to over $75 billion, driven by escalating AI demand. Meanwhile, mobile usage of AI tools rose 5.3%, highlighting a shift toward mobile platforms.
