In preparation for Republic Day, New Delhi Police have heightened security across the national capital, deploying over 30,000 personnel. Notably, around 10,000 officers are stationed in New Delhi, focusing on the ceremonial parade route and high-security areas. Extensive measures include checkpoints, barricades, and comprehensive briefings for officers on emergency protocols. Over 3,000 CCTV cameras equipped with advanced video analytics and Facial Recognition System (FRS) are actively monitored through 30 control rooms. Ground personnel use AI-enabled glasses linked to police databases, allowing real-time identification of suspects. The security framework comprises rigorous checks and access control along the parade route, complemented by mobile monitoring vehicles and sniper teams positioned on rooftops throughout the city. Surveillance is intensified in crowded places like markets and transport hubs. Citizens are urged to adhere to security advisories and be mindful of designated seating and entry points during the celebrations. This extensive security framework aims to ensure safe and seamless Republic Day festivities.
