OpenAI has launched Agent Kit, an innovative suite of tools aimed at empowering developers and enterprises to create AI agents efficiently, according to CEO Sam Altman. Key features include an Agent Builder for logic creation and testing, Chatkit for customizable chat interfaces, and Evals for performance measurement through trace grading. This new kit leverages OpenAI’s Responses API, widely used by developers, and integrates with the Connectors Registry for secure app connections via an admin dashboard. In tandem with Agent Kit, OpenAI unveiled enhanced coding features powered by an updated Codex model from the GPT-5 family, optimized for complex coding tasks. Codex has processed an impressive 40 trillion tokens, evidencing its extensive adoption. The developer user base has surged to 4 million, with API usage skyrocketing from 300 million to 6 billion tokens per minute. Additionally, new integrated apps from brands like Booking.com and Spotify are now available within the chatbot for seamless user experiences.
