Devin Creator Cognition Secures $400M Funding, Reaching a $10.2B Valuation for AI-Powered Coding Solutions

Cognition, an AI startup founded in 2024, has raised over $400 million, resulting in a valuation of $10.2 billion. The funding round, led by Founders Fund, saw participation from notable investors like Lux and Bain Capital Ventures. Cognition specializes in AI-driven coding tools, significantly increasing its annual recurring revenue from $1 million in September 2024 to $73 million by June 2025.

The company recently acquired Windsurf, an integrated development environment (IDE), which has accelerated its revenue growth, achieving over 30% growth in ARR shortly after the acquisition.
