TikTok’s algorithm has earned a reputation for being highly engaging, often leading users to spend excessive time on the app. However, it struggles with showing overly repetitive content, even when users select “Not Interested.” The influx of AI-generated content, particularly from tools like Sora, exacerbates this problem, resulting in a mix of entertaining and undesirable videos. Some AI clips can even pose risks by tricking users into downloading malware. To combat this, TikTok is introducing a new feature within the “Manage topics” menu to limit AI-generated content on your For You Page. This allows users to fine-tune their algorithm by adjusting a slider to reduce or increase the AI content they encounter. While the feature is currently rolling out and may not be universally available yet, it offers a way to enhance user control over their feed, promoting a healthier social media experience. Users can navigate to settings to find this new option soon.
