Elon Musk Issues Stark Warnings to OpenAI and Satya Nadella Following GPT-5 Launch: ‘Grok Will…’

On August 7, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, criticized Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, claiming that OpenAI’s new model, GPT-5, would “eat Microsoft alive.” In response to GPT-5’s launch, Musk touted his company’s AI model, Grok 4, as superior. Nadella had announced GPT-5 as the “most capable model yet,” integrating it into Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry. Musk fired back, asserting Grok 4 had outperformed GPT-5, sharing user feedback to support his claim. He teased Grok 5’s upcoming release, promising it would be “crushingly good.” OpenAI’s GPT-5, now accessible to all users, boasts significant enhancements in reasoning and safety, designed to deliver more accurate responses. The competition between Musk’s xAI and OpenAI intensifies as both leaders aim to dominate the AI landscape. Users are eager for Grok 5’s release, anticipated by the end of this year.
