Musk alleges that OpenAI leaders misled stakeholders about the shift to a profit-oriented structure, while OpenAI maintains Musk’s narrative is misleading. His suit demands OpenAI make key technologies more accessible and seeks to classify AI models like GPT-4 as forms of artificial general intelligence, challenging Microsoft’s licensing rights. OpenAI has rebutted Musk’s characterizations, asserting many claims are inaccurate.
