Elon Musk’s Grok AI Unveils Free ‘Imagine’ App for Android Amid Controversy Over Unsolicited Taylor Swift Deepfake Claims

OpenAI’s ChatGPT-5 is causing a stir, but Elon Musk’s Grok AI is stepping up its game with significant updates to its Imagine feature. Now free for Android, the Imagine tool allows users to create images and videos from text or voice prompts. Already, users have generated over 44 million images. Available on both Android and iOS, Grok Imagine empowers creativity, enabling content creation that goes viral without needing Photoshop skills. Users can create images, edit existing ones, or even transform images into videos through four modes: Normal, Fun, Custom, and Spicy. However, controversy arises as a journalist reported the creation of a deepfake video of Taylor Swift, highlighting potential misuse of the Spicy mode to generate explicit content. This incident stresses the need for robust safeguards in creative AI to prevent misuse and ensure responsible innovation in AI technology. The growing concerns underscore the importance of ethical standards in AI development.
