Astronaut and Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla emphasized the need for increased Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage in space programs during the ‘Delhi AI Grind’ event. He urged younger generations to leverage emerging technologies to address societal challenges and work towards a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047. Reflecting on his 20-day mission, Shukla noted that AI played a crucial role in streamlining data processing from experiments in microgravity. He highlighted how AI could significantly reduce the month-long, manual data verification process at NASA, potentially transforming operational efficiency.
Shukla cited Vikram Sarabhai’s vision, advocating that India should excel in advanced technologies for societal benefits. He called on the youth to take ownership of their country’s development, emphasizing collective responsibility in achieving Viksit Bharat. The Delhi AI Grind initiative aims to connect classrooms and communities, empowering over five lakh students to become innovators in an AI-driven future, fostering a technological ecosystem for societal advancement.
