Second-year AI and ML students from IHRD Engineering College, Chengannur, have launched the AI Connect app, aimed at enhancing the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) travel experience. This innovative app includes features like e-ticketing, a sleep-friendly mode that alerts passengers when it’s time to get off, and live tracking of buses. Additionally, the app’s friendly chatbot, AI Kuttan, offers instant information about bus schedules in multiple languages, making it user-friendly. Other functionalities include parking reservations, seat-holding options, and a lost-and-found service. The app was presented to Minister K B Ganesh Kumar, who instructed KSRTC officials to review its potential. This initiative represents a significant leap in utilizing artificial intelligence in public transport, providing a seamless travel experience for commuters in Kerala. The project shows the creativity and technical skills of the students, reflecting a promising future for AI in enhancing everyday services.
