Enhancements to Apple’s On-Device and Server-Based Language Models

At the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple unveiled advancements in Apple Intelligence, integrating generative AI into everyday applications while emphasizing user privacy. Key features include new language models designed for efficient performance on Apple silicon and a Foundation Models framework allowing developers to leverage an on-device model with over 3 billion parameters. These models support 15 languages and exemplify enhanced reasoning, tool-use, and image-text understanding capabilities.
