Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), enhancing success rates while cutting costs for patients. Dr. Manika Khanna, Chairperson and MD at Gaudium IVF, introduced two innovative AI tools—SiD (Sperm Identification Device) and ERICA (Embryo Ranking Intelligent Classification Assistant)—developed by UK’s IVF 2.0. SiD optimizes sperm selection to improve blastocyst formation quality, while ERICA aids embryologists by ranking embryos based on comprehensive analyses of blastocyst images. These non-invasive tools enhance decision-making, improve fertilization rates, and ultimately increase first-cycle IVF success by 5-7%. With around 15% of Indians facing infertility due to factors like stress and dietary habits, AI-driven solutions offer timely, efficient options, reducing the need for repeat cycles and alleviating emotional and financial stress on patients. Base IVF costs start around ₹2,00,000 at Gaudium IVF, highlighting the potential for improved outcomes through AI integration in fertility treatments.
