Grace Gimson, CEO and co-founder of Holly Health, announced significant advancements in digital self-management for individuals with multimorbidity through a collaboration with Loughborough University and Modality Partnership. The 18-month Innovate UK-funded project, running from May 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025, focused on enhancing digital health support for the one in three UK adults affected by multiple long-term health conditions. The project employed a Just-In-Time Adaptive Intervention (JITAI) system that integrates behavioral science with machine learning. This system personalizes health coaching based on users’ real-time data, effectively improving engagement and habit completion for over 180 users. Gimson highlighted the project’s unique approach amidst the rise of AI in healthcare, emphasizing its potential to deliver tailored lifestyle support. Moving forward, the enhanced Holly Health service aims to expand across NHS and community settings, potentially benefiting thousands by empowering them to manage long-term conditions proactively.
