Financial losses from AI incidents primarily impact 77% of businesses, but executives perceive reputational damage as a greater threat. Responsible AI (RAI) practices are seen as key drivers of growth, with 78% of leaders welcoming new AI regulations for clarity and trust. Despite this, only 2% of companies meet high RAI standards, revealing a significant gap in effective implementation. As RAI teams increase in size, the success rate of AI projects declines; larger teams manage more initiatives but yield a lower success ratio. Key recommendations include learning from industry leaders, combining product and platform operating models, embedding RAI guardrails, and establishing proactive RAI offices. As agentic AI emerges, businesses must enhance governance to mitigate risks and harness AI’s full potential.
