Google has launched significant updates to Workspace, integrating its AI model, Gemini, across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. Aimed at enhancing productivity and addressing user challenges, these updates allow users to generate initial drafts by simply describing their needs. The standout feature, “Help me create,” enables document creation using information from various sources. Gemini in Sheets has achieved a remarkable 70.48% accuracy rate on SpreadsheetBench, outperforming competitors. New features also include “Fill with Gemini,” which automates data entry, and enhanced slide-generation tools in Slides that adapt to user instructions. Drive’s updates transform it into an active knowledge base with AI Overviews and the ability to query files using complex questions. Google Workspace, while entering this competitive space against Microsoft 365, focuses on embedding Gemini within existing applications to streamline user interaction. All features are currently in beta, with plans for broader language support in the future.
