Former Palantir employees Tamar Gomez and Wiem Gharbi have launched Ankar, a London-based AI startup aimed at revolutionizing the patent filing process, securing $20 million in Series A funding. Led by Atomico and joined by Index Ventures, Norrsken, and Daphni, this investment builds upon a previous £3 million seed round. Ankar’s innovative platform leverages large language models to streamline patent applications, dramatically reducing the time required to transform innovations into bankable assets. The tool assesses novelty and identifies prior art by analyzing 150 million patent applications and 250 million scientific publications, enhancing efficiency for patent attorneys.
