Shikha Goel from the Cyber Security Bureau highlighted the necessity of trust in technology to prevent its descent into fear and loss of governance legitimacy. Businesses, like Darwinbox, leverage AI to automate compliance checks and flag violations in real time, illustrating AI’s transformative potential in corporate governance. However, challenges persist, particularly regarding AI liability, with calls for shared responsibility among developers, deployers, and regulators. Legal expert Sameer Avasarala stressed the need for a clear legal framework to address AI accountability issues. Ultimately, collaboration, accountability, and capacity-building are vital to harness AI as a protective asset rather than a threat.
