Gmail is set to introduce AI-powered features, leveraging Gemini AI tools, both for free and through paid subscriptions. These enhancements aim to streamline user experience with advanced AI Overviews, allowing users to find specific emails effortlessly. For instance, typing “find the tickets for my last trip to Sri Lanka” will prompt Gemini AI to retrieve relevant emails efficiently. Free AI summary features will be accessible at the top of the inbox, while a detailed version will require a Gemini AI Pro or Ultra subscription. A new proofreading tool will highlight and rephrase poorly structured email portions, also reserved for subscribers. Additionally, an AI Inbox with an iconic sparkly feature will summarize important emails users may have missed. Google ensures privacy by not using email data for AI training, offering users control over the new features in Gmail settings. These updates are currently in testing, with a global rollout planned soon.
