FarmPrecise App by WOTR Surpasses 100,000 Downloads, Empowering Farmers to Cut Input Costs with AI-Powered Insights

On August 13, 2025, the Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) announced that its FarmPrecise digital advisory platform has achieved over 100,000 downloads. This AI-enabled application provides real-time agricultural advisories to farmers in Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, helping to lower input costs by up to 20% through data-driven decision-making. Supporting 38 crops in multiple languages, FarmPrecise makes precision agriculture accessible to smallholder farmers, integrating scientific models and meteorological data for essential services like fertiliser planning, weather forecasts, and pest management. Key features include a multilingual chatbot offering expert responses and a pest forewarning model tailored to cotton and soybean crops. With plans to expand to 500,000 farmers by integrating AI, IoT, and remote sensing, WOTR’s initiative aims to empower rural communities pivotal to India’s economy with actionable tools for enhanced livelihoods. WOTR, founded over 30 years ago, focuses on sustainable development across various sectors, positively impacting millions.
