Feds Take Steps to Censor U.N. Report on Israel’s Corporate Agreements

Francesca Albanese, the U.N. special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, faces asset freezes from the U.S. government over her criticisms of Israeli actions and recent engagement with the International Criminal Court (ICC). Her July 2025 report, “From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide,” accuses major corporations like Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, and Booking.com of profiting from the Israeli occupation and calls for sanctions, legal actions, and consumer boycotts. Despite the government’s claims of “lawfare,” Albanese’s report categorizes 45 companies based on their complicity in the conflict, urging a systematic approach to activism in the Palestinian rights movement. The U.S. government’s attempts to suppress this information raise concerns about consumer rights and political awareness. Ultimately, Albanese’s work seeks to inform and empower individuals to make informed choices, directly countering government efforts to stifle dissent on this critical issue.
