Fujitsu Ltd., a leading Japanese telecommunications and computer manufacturer, has partnered with U.S. tech giant Nvidia Corp. to jointly develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. The collaboration aims to integrate Fujitsu’s central processing units (CPUs) with Nvidia’s powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) to create AI-driven agents for robotics and various sectors. This initiative aligns with a growing trend among Japanese companies, like Hitachi Ltd., which is also partnering with U.S. firms on AI solutions. Takahito Tokita, Fujitsu’s CEO, emphasized that enhanced computing power accelerates AI progress, aiming to establish a comprehensive AI infrastructure by 2030 tailored for healthcare, manufacturing, and customer service. Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s CEO, highlighted the onset of an “AI industrial revolution,” underlining the necessity to construct scalable AI infrastructure globally. Additionally, Fujitsu announced collaboration with Yaskawa Electric Corp. to develop intelligent robots leveraging its AI technology. This partnership marks a significant step in advancing Japan’s AI capabilities.
