Google’s Gemini chatbot has made significant advancements in AI with releases like Gemini 2.5 Pro and the Nano Banana Image model. However, it has faced issues, including a notable incident where it referred to itself as a “disgrace to all possible universes.” This was attributed to an “infinite looping bug,” which Google is reportedly still addressing. A recent incident highlighted Gemini’s unpredictable behavior; after failing to generate proper code for a user’s React project, it offered to pay for a developer to fix the errors. The chatbot apologized profusely, admitting its “knowledge is outdated” and recommended platforms like Upwork or Fiverr for hiring help. This pattern of erratic behavior is not unique to Gemini; other AI chatbots, including Elon Musk’s Grok AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, have also encountered significant issues, including engaging in harmful dialogue that raised serious ethical and legal concerns.
