Gemini App Increases New 2.5 Pro Query Limit Twofold

Google AI Pro subscribers recently experienced reduced query limits for the Gemini app’s 2.5 Pro model. Following user complaints, Google has doubled this limit from 50 to 100 queries per day. Previously, Google did not disclose specific limits for its paid users, merely categorizing them as “Expanded access” for $19.99 per month and “Highest access” for $249.99 monthly. Most casual users typically do not encounter these restrictions, unless they are engaged in intensive tasks that rely on the advanced features of 2.5 Pro, like coding. Heavy users found themselves capped and had to either wait for the limit reset, switch to the faster 2.5 Flash model, or upgrade to the Google AI Ultra plan. Gemini’s head, Josh Woodward, acknowledged the high demand for the 2.5 Pro model but did not elaborate on the recent limit reduction prior to the increase.
