Gemini Launches on Chrome for Pro and Ultra Users in the U.S. Starting Today

Google has begun rolling out its AI assistant, Gemini, in Chrome for Pro and Ultra users in the U.S. The integration enhances web browsing on both Mac and Windows, allowing users to interact seamlessly. Gemini helps explain website text, summarizes tabs, and organizes user data, making the browsing experience more intuitive. Users can ask Gemini questions like comparing cancellation policies or getting key takeaways from multiple articles. It also pulls information from Google apps without switching tabs, thus streamlining tasks like checking Maps or Calendar. Future updates will introduce “agentic capabilities,” enabling Gemini to perform actions on behalf of users, such as booking appointments or ordering groceries. Additionally, the Chrome omnibox will feature an “AI Mode” for conversational queries. Google aims to redefine browsing through AI, focusing on user control and smart browsing experiences while maintaining Chrome’s speed and safety.
