Gemini Now Available on Sony Bravia Google TV

Recently, Google’s next-gen voice assistant, Gemini, was spotted on a Sony Bravia equipped with Google TV, raising eyebrows among users. This revelation followed an update to the Google TV Home app, marking the first instance of Gemini appearing outside TCL’s QM9K series. When triggered, the Gemini setup screen prompted users to agree to data sharing and select from a range of voice personalities. Interestingly, this rollout does not coincide with a firmware update, suggesting that Google may be testing features with select users before a broader launch.

Gemini aims to enhance voice-activated content discovery, enabling users to ask nuanced questions and receive context-aware answers. The staggered rollout can be attributed to the complexities of different hardware and software, as Google prioritizes diverse OEM support before introducing features to its devices. For users with Sony Bravia or Google TV, checking for app updates and exploring settings may activate Gemini, hinting at a wider rollout soon.
