Google is enhancing the accessibility of Gemini within Google Drive, enabling users to interact with images directly through the Drive sidebar. This feature, currently rolling out and available to many users, allows for efficient extraction of information from images, such as scanned documents, receipts, and invoices. Users can even request Gemini to generate alternate image text or write stories based on the images. However, this functionality is limited to those with a paid Google Workspace plan, such as Google One AI Premium or Business Standard. To utilize Gemini, users can click on any uploaded image in Google Drive and select the Gemini icon to open the chatbot sidebar. Although this integration aims to improve interconnectivity within Google Workspace, users must be cautious, as vulnerabilities in Google Calendar have been exploited in the past.
