Apple is set to unveil a major overhaul of Siri, its digital assistant, powered by Google’s Gemini AI, according to Mark Gurman’s latest report from Bloomberg. The next-generation Siri will utilize a custom Gemini model hosted on Apple’s private cloud servers, allowing for personalized, context-aware responses by leveraging on-device data. The upgraded Siri will feature three main components: a query planner, a knowledge search system, and a summarizer, with the Gemini models managing the planning and summarization tasks. While Apple is investing significantly in this Siri enhancement, it will not mimic Android’s assistant. Instead, Apple aims to maintain a distinct ecosystem while providing smarter and faster responses. The revamped Siri is anticipated to launch with the iOS 26.4 update next spring. This Siri upgrade reflects Apple’s commitment to integrating advanced AI capabilities, enhancing user experience, and reinforcing its competitive edge in the digital assistant market.
