Generation Z employees are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) tools to navigate emotional intelligence concerns in the workplace. According to a June report from Resume.org, 76% of Gen Z workers utilize AI chatbots, with 94% relying on them to manage workplace issues. Many feel more validated and confident post-AI consultation, benefiting from immediate, judgment-free feedback. However, 43% noted that AI can enforce biased perspectives, leading to reduced personal accountability.
Survey insights reveal nearly half of Gen Z alter their communication styles after utilizing AI, with some becoming more assertive. While AI is helpful for interpreting tone and contributing to conflict resolution, its limitations include a lack of nuance and empathy, essential for healthy workplace interactions. More than half view AI as a co-worker, preferring it over direct conversations with managers. Employers are encouraged to foster emotionally healthy workplaces by integrating empathy and active communication, allowing AI to support rather than replace human connection.
