According to a Google engineer, the binary size of Chrome is increasing due to extensive code added to support “Chrome Glic,” the codename for Gemini integration. While specific details on the integration remain unclear, it may resemble the Copilot feature in Edge for Android, potentially allowing users to summarize webpages or ask follow-up questions via a floating button. Desktop functionality of Gemini, which offers contextual assistance based on open tabs, is currently limited in availability. Users can access it using specific keyboard shortcuts.
