Google has partnered with Khan Academy to introduce AI-based learning tools aimed at enhancing classroom experiences, particularly for middle and high school students who struggle with reading and writing. Announced at the Bett education conference, this collaboration integrates Google’s Gemini AI technology into Khan Academy’s platform, focusing on real classroom challenges rather than replacing teachers. The emphasis is on guiding students through tasks, encouraging independent thinking while providing support when needed. The new Gemini Writing Coach helps students plan and improve their writing, catering to grades 7-12 with a testing phase for grades 5-6. A Reading Coach is set to launch later this year for grades 5-12, assisting with reading comprehension and tracking progress through feedback reports. By prioritizing active learning and teacher involvement, this initiative aims to address learning gaps effectively, saving teachers time while enhancing student engagement and educational outcomes.
