Google has confirmed the rollout of Gemini AI, its advanced chatbot, to Android Auto, replacing Google Assistant. Currently, this feature is available exclusively to users in the Android Auto beta program, with versions 15.6 and 15.7 reported to include the AI assistant. Gemini AI enhances the in-car experience by providing smarter, more conversational interactions, accessible through the “Hey Google” hotword for hands-free control. The AI features real-time conversations and automatic text translation for messages. New settings options include “Interrupt Live responses” and “Share precise location,” both activated by default. However, some functions from Google Assistant, like nicknaming contacts, are not yet available. To experience Gemini AI early, users can join the Android Auto beta program via the Google Play Store. This AI transition promises to elevate the driving experience by integrating sophisticated technology into smart vehicles. Stay tuned for an official announcement once it moves to the stable channel.
