At the beginning of the year, Google launched Personal Intelligence, a Gemini feature that enhances chatbot responses by integrating information from users’ Google apps. Initially available only to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, the feature is now expanding to more users across the US. Users can activate Personal Intelligence in the dedicated search chatbot by selecting “Search personalization” under their profile, then connecting apps like Workspace and Google Photos.
In the coming weeks, Google plans to roll out this feature to free users of the Gemini app, followed by international availability. Gemini personalization will also be introduced in Chrome, starting with US users. This feature allows Gemini to generate tailored responses, such as personalized trip itineraries or troubleshooting assistance by leveraging data from Gmail. Personal Intelligence is disabled by default and only available for personal accounts, not for Workspace users, ensuring privacy and control over data utilization.
