Google’s Gemini AI assistant is now available on smart TVs, starting with the TCL QM9K series and set to expand to over 300 million Google TV and Android TV devices globally. This innovative integration enhances the viewing experience by allowing users to have natural conversations with their TVs instead of using traditional voice commands.
Key features of Gemini AI include personalized content discovery, smart search for shows and movies, and quick recaps or reviews of past seasons. Beyond entertainment, Gemini can assist with homework, holiday planning, and learning new skills directly through the TV. Importantly, Google Assistant will still function alongside Gemini, ensuring all existing features remain intact.
The rollout begins with TCL models, with more brands like Hisense and Walmart’s Onn planned for 2025. This development positions Google at the forefront of creating smarter, more interactive televisions, transforming them into versatile home hubs.
