Google is enhancing its Home app with a new update focused on improving the experience with its Gemini AI assistant. This update aims to make smart home control more intuitive and efficient. Users can now describe desired lighting conditions, such as asking for “the color of the ocean,” and Gemini will appropriately adjust the colors. The AI’s language processing has been refined, allowing commands like “preheat the smart oven to 350 degrees” or setting humidity levels with precision. Additionally, Gemini can better distinguish between similar devices, such as “lamp” and “light,” for quicker responses. Supervised accounts for kids now also have access to Gemini. Moreover, the Gemini Live feature has been updated, enabling more interactive conversations, with enhanced news summaries available on smart displays and speakers. Users can engage by asking about the latest news or tech updates. These updates are currently being rolled out.
