Google is enhancing its AI capabilities with a new image generation feature, powered by Nano Banana, in the Google app. Users will soon be able to generate images directly from the search bar by tapping the plus icon and selecting “Create images.” This feature offers convenient access to the image generator, previously available via the Gemini website and Google Search’s Lens.
Recent APK teardowns reveal that this functionality is now live in the Google app (version 16.47.49.ve.arm64) alongside existing options in Chrome Canary for Android. Simply type a prompt after tapping the plus icon to receive generated images swiftly and easily.
