Google Introduces Notebooks Feature in Gemini

Gemini has introduced an integrated Notebooks feature, enabling users to organize chats and files efficiently. These notebooks sync seamlessly with NotebookLM, enhancing workflow management across Google products. As Google senior product manager Rebecca Zapfel explains, notebooks act as personal knowledge bases, offering a dedicated space for content organization tailored to specific tasks. Users can transfer notebooks from NotebookLM to Gemini, providing context-specific instructions that Gemini utilizes alongside web search to generate responses. The syncing capabilities ensure that notebooks and their associated sources are accessible across platforms. The subscription tiers dictate the number of notebooks users can create: free users can have up to 100 notebooks with 50 sources each, while Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra offer larger capacities. Notebooks are currently rolling out to relevant subscribers on the web, with plans to expand to mobile and free users soon. Further features for notebooks in Gemini are in development.
