This new feature enhances search with advanced reasoning and multimodal support, including text, voice, and image inputs. Previously an experiment in the U.S., it is now accessible in English on the Google app and desktop.
AI Mode enables users to ask complex, nuanced questions, utilizing query fan-out to break down prompts for more detailed responses. Early adopters are reportedly asking longer queries related to planning, product comparisons, and how-to tasks.
Recognizing India’s high usage of Google Lens and voice search, the feature allows users to speak or upload images to receive tailored search results. Google’s emphasis on a multimodal approach caters to India’s diverse internet audience.
As an experimental rollout, AI Mode aims to gather user feedback for continuous improvement, reinforcing Google’s commitment to making information more accessible and contextual worldwide.
