Google is set to enhance its Google TV devices with the integration of its generative AI tool, Gemini. This new feature aims to transform the viewing experience by providing image and video generation capabilities via its AI models, Nano Banana and Veo. Users can now generate and remix personal photos, creating immersive slideshows directly on their TVs. Additionally, Gemini will offer a “visually rich framework” for exploring topics with images and real-time information, ensuring family-friendly content through narrated, interactive overviews.
The AI will also allow users to adjust settings with natural language commands, facilitating seamless viewing experiences—like dimming the screen without interruption. This initiative comes at a time when creatives in Hollywood are pushing back against generative AI. Initially rolling out on select TCL devices, Gemini promises to elevate Google TV’s functionality and creativity, offering users an innovative way to engage with their media. Expect more updates as this feature expands to additional devices.
