Google has unveiled a significant AI-enhanced update for Gmail, introducing new features powered by its Gemini technology. Key upgrades include AI Overviews, which summarize lengthy email threads, making it easier for users to grasp essential information without sifting through multiple messages. Additionally, the revamped Suggested Replies feature provides tailored responses aligned with users’ writing styles, while Help Me Write offers AI-assisted drafting to enhance email clarity and effectiveness. A new Proofread option will further refine grammar and style, although some features are exclusive to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
The AI Inbox feature prioritizes important messages and filters out less relevant ones, focusing on urgent communications like bills and appointments. Currently available in English in the U.S., these Gemini 3-powered features will be expanded to other languages and regions soon. This update aims to boost user productivity as email volumes continue to grow.
