Google Launches Innovative Anti-Scam Tools and Security Features at India’s AI Pre-Summit Event

The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act in India will leverage privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) like federated learning, homomorphic encryption, and differential privacy for effective implementation, as stated by Vikash Chourasia from the IT Ministry. He emphasized the importance of PETs during a panel hosted by Google India, highlighting the need for collaboration with institutions like IIT Madras’ Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI). The AI pre-summit forum is part of 800 events ahead of the India AI Impact Summit in February 2026, the first of its kind in the global South. Google showcased its AI-driven initiatives for user protection, including a new scam detection feature for Pixel phones that analyzes calls without data recording.
